Security & Audit Logs
We keep a record of security-significant actions — signing in, signing out, asking for a password reset, changing the email address on an account, and changes an administrator makes to an account. Each record identifies the account by its internal identifier and never by its email address, and no password, token, session cookie or payment detail is ever written to a log.
Requests to this site are logged by our hosting provider, and those logs include the network address the request came from. A network address is personal data. We keep audit records for 7years and ordinary operational logs for 90 days, in storage whose retention period is locked so it cannot be shortened after the fact.
We use these records to investigate abuse, to answer a lawful request for information, and to work out what went wrong when something breaks. They are read by administrators and are not used for advertising or analytics.
