The Community Section Opens

7 August 2026Community

Community is a real section now: a Discord invitation at the top, and every article we write beneath it. The home page's news is the newest few of the same articles rather than a placeholder.

Until today the Community entry in the site's navigation led nowhere, and the news on the home page was written to show what news would look like. Both are real now. Community holds an invitation to our Discord and the list of everything we have written, newest first, a page at a time.

Where the writing lives

An article is a file in the same repository as the site, reviewed and deployed the way every other change is. That is a deliberate choice rather than a stage on the way to something else: publishing is merging, which is a step we already take carefully, and an article that ships with the site can never disagree with the site it describes.

It also means each article carries its own record of when it was published and when it last changed. A correction is a correction — it will not arrive as though it were something new.

What to expect here

  • Notes on what the site can do, written when the thing is actually finished.
  • Rules writing, when a rule is settled and worth explaining at more length than the rulebook gives it.
  • The occasional look at how something was decided, where the reasoning is more useful than the result.

Discord is where the conversation happens in between. It is the fastest way to ask something, and the place we go first when we want to know whether an idea is any good.
